SOMETIMES AN EFFORT,
MODERATION CAN BE TOUGH,
PUSHING BACK THE SEA.

Moderation is a stoic virtue we should all try to model. This does not only relate to food and alcohol but also applies to all aspects of our daily lives. This can be thoughts and feelings - who wants to be taken over and loose control because of anger. It can also be applied to that modern curse of mankind in the form of ‘ostentatious consumerism’ to show how rich or powerful you are. How many shirts, shoes, cars, houses do we actually need to live a happy life. Moderation is within our control and in part is the control of self over ego … that inner child who always wants more. Moderation does not mean denying anyone everything. It does mean applying control, courage and wisdom to say to ourselves and to others ‘yes’ and ’no’ when appropriate. Sometimes it feels like trying to push back the sea.
