SEE REALITY.
One of the most useful Stoic techniques is the “Strip-It” method. This is especially true if someone is any at you and you are feeling intimidated, or you are getting Angry. The steps are simple:
- Stop what are perceiving at your “border” - before you react, before your ego gets involved.
- Once stopped, take the event apart and see it from various angles and perspective.
- See the event for what it really is - from the “cosmic” perspective. For example “I am getting angry because they scared me… they were playing a silly joke. They did not intend to make me angry”
- Then react based on what is true, calmly and rationally.
